How to apply for a Malaysia visit Visa?

Here’s a clear step-by-step guide on how to apply for a Malaysia visit (tourist) visa and how long you can stay in Malaysia?

            1. Check If You Need a Visa

      •  Citizens of Sri Lanka need a visa to enter Malaysia for tourism or social visits.

 

          2. Choose the Right Visa Type  (eVisa – Most common & easiest)

      •  For tourism, sightseeing, visiting family/friends.
      •  Entirely online application – no need to visit embassy.

Important Details

      • Stay Duration: Maximum stay per entry is 30 days.
      • Validity: Typically 3 months from the date of issue.
      • Processing Time: Typically 24-48 working hours (2-3 days).
      • Apply online, upload docs (passport photo, return ticket, accommodations, etc.).

 (After approval, you’ll get your eVisa via email; you can print it out or save a copy on your phone.)

 

         3. Documents You Generally Require

It includes requirements such as,

      • Valid passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your trip).
      • Recent passport photo.
      • Return flight reservation.
      • Hotel reservation / accommodation document. Online submission of visa application.

      • With your tourist eVisa, you are eligible to enter the country for up to 30 days per entry. What this means is that, upon arrival in Malaysia, you will be allowed to enter with a stamp on your passport for a period not exceeding 30 days.
